My lessons are completely flexible and specific to the needs of the student. I also prefer to take a student-driven approach, where we can discuss topics chosen by the student, and I can recommend resources which can help the student to discuss these topics beforehand. Personally, I found lecture-based content very difficult to adhere to when I studied, as it can be hard to stay motivated and tuned in to them. Allowing students to guide discussions can help them to focus on the parts of topics which they might need more help with, as well as to keep them interested in the content, rather than having to hear boring monologues by the tutor. Discussion can also be an effective way to stay focused, as well as to retain what you learn, as you are more actively engaged in the content. The idea of preparing before discussion with resources is also a good incentive to engage with Psychology literature, as it will help discussions to go more smoothly. Of course, I a student prefers a more hands-on approach, I am happy to provide this, as everyone has their own preferred ways to learn. I am also very familiar with writing and presenting in Psychology, and am happy to advise on or review assignments. I can also provide more general guidance and feedback to assignments such as these, in terms of academic writing style, structure, clarity and conciseness etc. If you're interested in learning in a different way to traditional teaching, from a student who has achieved strong grades throughout their Psychology education, then please contact me!
