I have worked as a geologist in industry in the last two decades, graduating with a BSc in Geology and a MSc in Petroleum Geochemistry. During my undergraduate days, I was a volunteer at the local history museum and hosted numerous open days for families to learn all things geology. Kids loved finding out about dinosaurs and I have always found their enthusiasm and ability to engage in geology amazing. Geology is such an exciting subject, and how it can transport your imagination into another world that is completely different to what we witness today. The incredible truth is though, that all the processes that existed hundred's of millions of years ago, still exist today.
I can tailor lessons to help gain a better understanding of why our planet is like it is and how it was shaped as a result of our natural processes.
Topics covered: Different rock types - sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic Types of fossils The geological eras Minerals Types of volcanoes Extinction events Plate tectonics Under the microscope Petroleum geology Ancient environments - continents and oceans ...and more!
