As a dedicated science teacher with over 40 years of experience, I have consistently aimed to make complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging for students of all abilities. My teaching philosophy revolves around breaking down topics, developing core ideas, applying them to real-world contexts, and reinforcing learning through practice with relevant equations. This structured approach not only builds students' understanding but also empowers them to tackle challenging problems independently.
In addition to my teaching, I serve as an A-level Physics examiner, which keeps me closely connected to current academic standards. This role allows me to provide precise and informed guidance to my students, particularly in exam preparation and performance.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). I am committed to creating a supportive learning environment where all students, regardless of their challenges, can achieve success. By adapting my lessons to meet their individual needs, I’ve seen these students exceed their own expectations and develop confidence in their abilities.
Throughout my career, my greatest joy has come from witnessing my students’ achievements—whether it’s helping a struggling student grasp a difficult concept or seeing a high-achiever progress to top university placements. I remain deeply passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists and critical thinkers.
