Before becoming a qualified English teacher I had studied a bachelor's degree in Applied Languages and Translation, in which I studied Spanish, French and Chinese. Alongside this degree I also made a dedicated effort to learn Polish in my free time through books and visiting the country. This passion for languages pushed me to become an English teacher in order to help other people on their language journey and allow them to access different cultures, literature, music, and meeting new people from around the world, just like I have been able to do. I then studied my master's degree in TESOL and since April 2020 I've been teaching English online and in classrooms to students from all around the world. I am now branching out my teaching to Spanish, French and Polish in order to gain new experiences.
Depending on the level that I'm teaching, I use various methods, but my focus is always on building vocabulary in a wide range of topics to enable the student to manage all aspects of the language that they will need no matter the situation. I use a communicational, task-based approach, where the student will have to use the learned language to complete tasks in a range of contexts, with a clear focus on the student being able to produce the language, which allows the student to make mistakes and receive timely feedback in order to correct difficulties they have. I cover all aspects of language in my classes, so students should always expect to have reading, listening, speaking and writing tasks, along with vocabulary building exercises and detailed grammar explanations. The main advantage of studying with me is that I have a profound knowledge of languages and can bring my knowledge to the classroom, especially if the student speaks a language I am familiar with, which are many.
