Teachers have to be flexible, resourceful, and responsible. Teachers will inevitably be responsible for a variety of situations, subjects, and other tasks, and flexibility allows for success with each. Resourcefulness is key to make the most of each class and be able to succeed in every situation, new or known. Being aware of resources students need and matching them to resources available is one of the leadership skills teachers show. Their responsibility is evident in their job; teaching the next generations of students while covering the needs of the school is an important position much in need. I have a flexible teaching format which follows what students naturally understand and are interested in. Their curiosity is one of the best tools in their education, and I love building connections to that and everything else they're studying. Lessons are dynamic and engaging, witty and efficient, and aim to incorporate the appropriate amount of entertainment into building skills in chemistry and science. My experience has gotten me proficient in making lessons engaging in multiple forms, as well as clear and concise. Being dynamic means lessons are never wasted; rather, lessons are always going to be constructive, use integrated assessment opportunities to gauge understanding and challenges, and adapt to continue a productive pace. My experience includes two years TA-ing Chemistry at a top 20 university in the United States, the University of Notre Dame, as well as tutoring during my Masters of Biomedical Sciences. I've been a high school teacher for two years, and am well-practiced in how we use physical and electronic forms of education in my work.
