You may think 'I can't draw' - I say you can! My sessions offer students a selection of tools and tricks to help them unlock their drawing potential, improve their visual literacy, and gain confidence to draw.
My classes start with getting to know you a little better - what makes you tick, what are your interests and what do you want to gain from the class? Every student has drawing abilities and interests, and we’ll look to build on these. If a fascination emerges during our sessions, I’ll encourage them to keep going. If we identify areas to work on, we’ll develop bespoke exercises to help build those muscles.
Whatever the subject, we'll begin with some simple icebreaker exercises to get us in a playful, focused frame of mind. As the session progresses and we get more absorbed in the work, the tasks get incrementally longer, with each stage building on the last. We'll have a quick chat before plunging in to the next task, and I'll be on hand to offer tips as needed.
At the end of each stage we'll review where we've got to and consider where the next steps might take us - whether or not you choose to do so.
Skills we can work on include: - Technical drawing - Diagramming - Graphics - Setting up your sheet - Size and scale - Perspective - Cartooning - Choice of materials And more!
