I have been an artist since I graduated from University in 2001, although I had always made art since childhood. I have been a painter, a sculptor, a performance artist, a writer of music, printer - basically a wide range of experience. On top of that I have shown as an artist internationally, in museums and galleries, so I have a wide experience of the art world and how it works. I have been working commercially as a 3D artist since 2020 using many 3D programmes and can also bring that to the table. I'm interested in getting to know a student and getting to know their work. I want to understand their motivations, what they are trying to achieve, and whether they have thought about alternative possibilities. My rationale is simple - I want to bring out the best in a student and help them achieve their vision. I have extensive art history knowledge, and can bring that as a reference point. My knowledge of technique can help a student approach a problem in a way they may not have thought about yet. The student is central - in the end they are making the work. They just need a great sounding board, an advisor if you will. I can be that person.
