When I get a new student, I go through their class study plan, talk to the student to find out what and how they would like me to run the session. Based on that i come up with a study plan. My goal as a tutor is to improve the students understanding of the material by taking the time to explain aspects of the class that instructor couldn’t take the time to go through in an effort to complete the student’s understanding of the subject and hopefully improve their grade. I’ve had multiple experience with virtual tutoring session and I use virtual whiteboards so that the student can follow through with my explanation and if the need arises I’ll share my screen. I like my student to have full control on the content and the pace at which we go through the material. My goal isn’t to recreate the classroom experience but rather personalize it for each one of my students.
