Hello everyone,
My name is Paula, but you can call me "Pau". I pride myself on being a creative and solution-focused educator which can bring a unique perspective and skill set to the team. If you step into my class (even on an online setting) the first thing you will notice is a robust learning environment where my students often take the lead, and a place where they feel confident enough to share their ideas and participate actively. Additionally, you will notice that my class objectives are always made clear to my students in consideration of their different learning styles and effective strategies are implemented to reach their full potential. As a Language arts teacher, I take seriously the responsibility that we have as educators to prepare our students for an increasingly connected world and one way to do that is through effective communication.
Regarding my teaching experience, I consider myself an excellent fit for this position. Over the last 9 years, I have had the chance to teach a variety of age groups ranging from pre-K to adults. For the last four years, I have instructed at Colegio Jorge Washington (COJOWA) where I have taught AP Spanish and Spanish as a Second Language to American students and teachers. COJOWA is an international American school located in Cartagena, Colombia. During my time in this school, I also have had the opportunity to be the advisor for NHS and the lead teacher for the Spanish department, working diligently with the academic team to provide great professional development opportunities for my colleagues.
I hope to meet you soon!
