What I have found to be very effective is a combination of the use of video instruction mentioned in my introduction along with reinforcement through my instruction with practice through speaking, reading, and writing the language. The Standard Deviants production is lively and funny, and the troupe of characters do not take themselves seriously, so it makes for a fun lesson every day. The advantage of using this video is that it can be replayed as needed to reinforce the materials learned. I like the pace and entertainment quality of the presentation. It complements my teaching style to keep things light but learn and reinforce the lessons all the time. As with any language, practice is essential to learning, so there is always the follow-up practices for each lesson and concepts learned. It is a fun way to learn French!
