I will arrive with pre-prepared lessons on each essential subject area of the curriculum, and, according to the students needs/desires, I will present my slides and work through examples with the student depending on the area(s) of the course which require further understanding/improvement.

If lessons progress further, I will test the student on the area(s) with which they are struggling and provide resources for further individual study. I believe it is crucial to first identify the key areas in which the student lacks a solid grasp of the fundamental concepts and methods.

I attempt to teach the student in a way with which they are familiar from school. It is important to maintain consistency across the students education, and I attempt not to stray from methods which the student has already been taught to avoid confusion.

I understand that as the course progresses, especially at the Higher and Advanced Higher levels, workload can often become overwhelming and many complex concepts are taught in a very short space of time. As such, I aim to deliver my presentations in a simple manner, making them easy to comprehend. Sometimes, all it takes is a little explanation from someone new to truly understand something complex!

The lessons will be completed according to the student's own pace, and I will take the time necessary to explain every area of the course until the student is able to complete questions with a satisfactory level of efficiency. As such, working through questions at a good pace is another important area which will be covered.
