I've been working professionally as a photographer and filmmaker since 2012 and have also been running group and 121 photography workshops for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels of creatives.
My style of teaching is practical, logical, relaxed and very focused on the learners specific abilities.
No one person makes photographs alike the other, so my teaching reflects that and is tailored for each student.
On my courses I teach the very basics of how photography works, the history, it's place in society, rules, boundaries and beliefs.
The kind of things I teach start with understanding exposure, learning about your camera, how to set it up, how to use it and how to simplify it's use.
The basics of composition, the rules and how to break them.
How to research other photographers. Reading a photograph beyond the surface and how to write about what you're seeing.
How to become creative with your photography, shooting in manual mode, what to point your camera at, when and how.
How to use post production software including Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
I'll also teach how to get yourself started with a photography business and what's involved.

It's impossible to complete my courses without learning something and because my style is nice but direct, you will always understand what I'm explaining and be able to take the information away with you to practice on your own competently.

Some of my classes may be online, outside in good weather, traversing rough terrain, fields and through woodlands. Some classes may also be indoors at my studio or your home and local environment.
