My interest in people began in college, where I became fascinated with the human experience and helping others. Since then, I have continued with my studies and have recently completed a Master’s degree in International Social Welfare and Social Policy, graduating with distinction (79.33%). During this time, I have researched, inter alia, Globalisation and Health, Morality in International Relations, Universal Basic Income (UBI), Discourses of Development and Coloniality, Coastal Deprivation and Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience. I believe that this wide, yet specialised, series of subjects has equipped me with a knowledge base, a capacity for comprehension and a principled and pragmatic attitude.
The skills I have acquired during my time at university go beyond the classroom, however. Along with the virtues of time keeping, organisation and the unassailable importance of meeting deadlines; I have learned the seriousness of data protection, the gravity of ethical consideration and the significance of integrity, responsibility, and the motivation for excellence. After running a successful campaign, I was delighted to be elected to the Anglia Ruskin Student Union as a course representative, and this allowed me to gain experience in reporting and relaying information in a professional sense for the Student Staff Liaison Committee meetings, and to improve my skills in photo-editing for posters, graph-building and data entry.
An attention to detail before sending out work has been praised at every stage of my professional path and an ability to organise secondary parties, along with my own workload has been fostered during my time in various managerial positions. I pride myself on being an efficient communicator, as well as being organised and methodical, putting in place effective systems of addressing issues before they become overwhelming.
