I have attained triple A in A Level maths, further maths and physics, all with Edexcel, though my tutorials won’t be limited to one exam board. And I will be studying for a 4 year integrated master’s degree at the University of Manchester. Throughout the two years I was in sixth form, I had helped my friends with topics in maths that they found difficult. I also volunteered to tutor and mentor lower-year groups and received recognition and commendations from my teachers. I was also a tutee for those 2 years, I had several tutors before meeting the right one, and I had developed an idea of what works and what doesn’t for a tutorial. Throughout my experience tutoring, being tutored and studying in school I’ve found that a friendly and less serious approach as opposed to the classic classroom style teaching is easier to build trust and rapport between tutors and students, in turn increasing the efficiency and engagement in the tutorial. From all of my time studying mathematics, I found it to be a hard subject, but the rewarding feeling after grasping and understanding the materials will be incredibly engaging and fun. It motivated me to pursue higher education in maths and hopefully, I can make the same happen to you too. My tutorial will be online on Zoom. I will break down maths into simpler concepts for my students to understand. Each of my students will get a tailored approach to teaching to bring out their maximum capacity.
