I like to personally tailor the lesson for the student. I have over 10 years experience as a tutor and this knowledge allows me to provide lessons suited for the individual.

In the first session I will assess the level of competency in all four areas of English. This will be assessed in various ways including speaking with the student and parent/guardian, as well as listening to the student read. I will also set a written task to be completed during the session.
Future session will target areas in which I/we feel needs improvement.

I use various styles during the sessions so as the student does not become bored or disinterested.
I use traditional paper based worksheets alongside games using technology.

I also leave homework for the student to complete alone once the expectations have been modelled and discussed during the session.

For GCSE students I have resources that are linked in the curriculum. I can tutor for AQA and Edexcel exam boards and cover both English Language and English Literature.

I prefer to deliver the sessions online but can do some face to face sessions dependent on the area of the country.

I have a First Class English Language Degree and also have a PGCE in English & EAL.
I have taught in both primary and further education sectors.
