My teaching method often varies based on the students requirements.
But all students would be benefitted from detailed notes and resources of all kind. The resources would include materials to refer, notes as mentioned, placards, quizzes, etc.
Moreover, the explanation would focus on three areas. Firstly, getting the basic clarity of the material. Secondly, being able to apply the knowledge in practical areas. And finally, focusing on a broader understanding to ensure that the individual is able to defend, explain and dwell deeper in the topic if they wish to.
The format of the explanation would generally be in the form of PPT or typed notes during explanation. The primary aim of the format stays on making the content both easy to grasp and interesting, while also ensuring that the knowledge gained sticks to memory. My method of teaching includes a lot of examples, as well as linking it with other theories/information in the same field and work of other psychologists.
All in all, a very detailed and thoroughly researched content on all topics being taught would keep the student up to date with the field. By going beyond the textbook and looking for the development in the field would make sure that the student knows the topic to as much clarity as possible.
The student would be encouraged to push themselves and be interactive. It is imperative that the student finds themselves comfortable and interested to keep participating in the lectures and think of it as more of a peer discussion than a teacher-student relationship.
