I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language for over 25 years. My journey started in Crete, Greece teaching in local language schools to small groups of all ages. And then building up my private portfolio of students. I had 15 private students just before leaving Greece.
On returning to the UK I continued teaching online for a Chinese company, where I built up many regular learners. My online experience was what made me realise how vast and exciting online teaching can be. Not only teaching students from far and wide but learning about different cultures and sharing experiences. I have also had the pleasure of meeting one of my Chinese students when she visited the UK.
I have taken students from not knowing a single word to taking and passing high level examinations in the language.
I believe patience is key. Everyone learns at their own pace. I love when a student is excited and their confidence grows! That's a real light bulb moment!
