I'm flexible when it comes to lesson styles. Some students approach me and have a list of questions to go through or topics they've been struggling with, and we address them in the lesson space. Other times, students have very little idea what help they need, they just know they aren't enjoying the subject or doing very well in tests. In this case, we may start by doing a few practice questions so I can see your level of understanding and what topics you are more or less familiar with, and then begin to strategise a plan from there. For example, if I see a weakness in the topic of electricity, I may suggest we spend the next lesson focussed on electricity theory, followed by a lesson on practice questions on the subject. More often than not, lessons earlier in the year are more focussed on theory and understanding. Later on in the year we focus more on exam technique and preparation (but this is not set in stone).
I like to be interactive in sessions, so I will often ask for your thoughts, whether you're happy with the material, or if I can explain anything better. If we're doing theory, I might ask you a few tester questions to see if you're understanding material. Please remember: if you don't understand something, it's my fault, not yours!
As a takeaway, we will tailor every lesson to your needs and desires for learning ;)
