Owen Sanger

I am a self taught musician who has been playing guitar for over a decade. Having spent my life avoiding the aspects of musical education that made playing my instrument seem like a chore, with strict rules to follow, I have made it my mission to make sure that learning guitar has been a passion-based project. Over the years, I have come to gain deep experience in a range of guitar skills, such as, fingerpicking, song-writing, alternate-tunings, harp-harmonics, soloing/scales, among many more.

I believe that the student's passion for the subject should be the primary driver of the teaching! My lessons will be modified in order to fit the styles of music that the student is interested in learning. If this requires me to do some further research into new fields while remaining steps ahead, I gladly will. This will ensure I am always in a position to provide musical education but in a way that is catered to the student's needs.

I personally have the most experience in the following genres but I am always keen to expand my repertoire: folk, indie, punk, acoustic, singer-songwriter, alternative rock, blues, raga, traditional Indian guitar, Neo-soul, impressionist.

I am happy to commute to student's preferred location for guitar teaching. Whether that be their own home or a park if it is a sunny day. I am also willing to provide online lessons if that is preferred.
