There is no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching a language. Lessons will be tailored to the student's individual needs and their personality. In my 25 years of experience I have taught all kinds of person, of all ages and at all levels of language ability. Lesson time is generally devoted to those areas of language that are best suited to the lesson format. Areas such as reading and writing are best left for homework/self-study with support from the teacher during a small part of the lesson time. Expect lots of speaking, listening and vocabulary development. Grammar is a key part of language and will, of course, be part of the lessons, but I prefer to observe what mistakes are being made and introduce the grammar to fit in with the specific errors the student makes.
