I am currently teaching online delivering my own lessons via zoom KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 subjects I have experience planning my own lessons, setting homework, mark work, setting end of topic assessments, writing reports and having constant communication with parents. I am planning lessons, delivery the lessons to the students and setting homework as well as assessments. I have also done a lot of marking which has been a great experience for me and I am looking forward to start asap. Previously to my training year I have had vast school experience working in three different schools as a cover supervisor. During my time working in schools I always I had the desire to work in the education sector and this has inspired me further while working in a school as a cover supervisor. The reason I have applied for this role is because I want to make a difference to young people life. I want to see young people succeed in education and I want to get the best out of them so that they get the best possible grades and prosper in their careers. In this way it would help embark life lessons that young people will never forget and influence their decisions, behaviours, strengths, weaknesses and imaginations to life. I hope to be a real role model and asset that cultivates in young people, open minds, the knowledge and ability to look at the world critically and the belief in one's capacity to make positive contributions to society. I believe that my current understanding and interest of the subject has helped me to gain the foundation base covered to teach the subject in schools. In this way I can build on the skills and knowledge already gained from my previous cover supervisor roles at school. Doing this role it will help me provide students with core practical skills will and help them prepare for the technical challenges of the future. With technology changing and becoming more advance having the foundation based covered within schools will really help students to succeed moving forward. As a Cover Supervisor I have planned, prepared and delivered educational activities that engaged students in debates on particular topics within different subjects. In this way it has helped me to identify how students were progressing in main subjects as well as other subjects. It also helped me to identify any strengths and weaknesses that students had on particular subjects taught at the school. In the beginning, it was very challenging to know different students' ability, but I had to overcome this very successfully by attending regular meetings and staff training. Time to time I had to get help from other colleagues for support and advice on what methods and techniques to use to improve student's behaviour in classrooms. Working in this way has helped me to manage student's behaviour effectively, by understanding their needs and by engaging them actively in learning. It has helped students to be more focused and listen to instructions accordingly and this has all come down to me using effective behaviour management and setting classroom rules before the lessons. I have learnt great organisation skills and communication skills in my cover supervisor role. Having great organisation skills has helped me to plan work effectively and to keep on top of the workload in a school setting. This could be for example: planning work for the class or marking students work to check the progress. Having great communication skills helps effective communication flow with other staff members and to make sure crucial information is not missed as well as correct information is passed onto the relevant team. Gaining valuable school experience has enhanced to broaden my knowledge in all aspects within the school department when covering lessons. In this way I have developed practical skills, worked well in a team, has made me more inspired and more motivated to gain success within teaching.
