About me

Every lesson will include a theoretical portion, where we discuss the day's topic together, and talk about music that you yourself enjoy and feel inspired by! There will also be a practical portion to each lesson where we work on the idea that you will eventually turn into a song. It will also be encouraged to continue work outside of lessons during your spare time.

There will also be a practical portion to each lesson where we work on the idea that you will eventually turn into a song. It will also be encouraged to continue work outside of lessons during your spare time.

For those who mostly want to focus on the post-production aspect or need help with their ideas I can provide unedited, unmixed recordings which will give you a great start. These lessons are tailored for your learning experience and I am happy to adjust the units in the way that works best for you and your music.

We will cover music production topic by topic. Depending on your main interests we may spend more time exploring certain elements, but it is important to go consider every stage of the process. This is split into three main units: pre-production, production and post-production. Each of these include various sub-topics which will be covered in the lessons.

Pre-production mainly comes down to one thing: planning! We will explore composition, arranging, genre choice, reference tracks and what you want the 'feeling' of your song to be.

Production is when the musical elements of the song are captured. Topics include music software, recording, microphone use, MIDI instruments and performance etiquette.

Post-production is the stage where the song comes together and gets prepared for release! We will be covering editing, processing, mixing and mastering.
