My clinical experience as a student nurse has allowed me to apply these basics we learn in human biology to everyday life such as if a patient get nicked in the artery and not the vein, why does that cause more blood to spurt out, well! my biology background would always remind me that the arteries pump blood away from the heart and back to the rest of the body whereas veins are carrying blood to the heart and that gets my using my patho- brain more often than the average person after a level biology.
As a current student, I know what it’s like to struggle with study techniques and finding the correct support to achieve good grades. I also consider that not everybody learns with the same technique.
Similar to person centred care I’ve been taught to deliver in the hospital I apply that to my teaching and sessions, allowing for my clients to have tailor made sessions, i.e paying more attention to their weaknesses when needed.
Biology is one of the important subjects I believe can* be used on a daily.
