If you are looking to develop the skills you need to succeed in your History exams, to work towards securing that place on your History course at University, or to continue to build towards that final History degree classification, I can help!
I always strive to build a rapport with my students and I like my sessions to have a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, while still covering everything that the student will need to give them all the tools to succeed in this subject. History carries a lot of weight to it as a subject, with many people often finding the subject intimidating and I always aim to try to remove this intimidation and foster a love of History in my students.
As a current PhD student, History and War Studies graduate, and former secondary school teacher, I am equally comfortable in lecture-based teaching and one-to-one targeted sessions. I have experience with dealing with students with SEND issues and am comfortable in working around these to enable the student to have a rewarding session and build towards success in the subject.
Together, we will explore the subject area that you are focused on, whether this is delving into the trenches of the First World War, venturing into Britain's past with the Tudors, or into the tensions of the Cold War. We will look at what the examiners are looking for to enable you to get those top marks in your exams and hopefully have a little fun along the way. History doesn't have to be scary and there is so much to explore in this subject!
