I approach teaching languages as a personalised experience that tailors to the needs and requirements of the students. that being said, I usually divide the lesson into four segments focusing on the four key competencies, speaking, writing, reading and oral comprehension. These four skill areas are deployed around different lesson themes that vary every week,providing a broad range of vocabulary, verbs and topics the student will become familiar with. We begin with dynamic games to ease students into the different topics and allow them to get comfortable with the vocabulary, before moving into to slightly more complicated exercises that involve learning grammar. Towards the end of the lesson what has been learnt into practice through conversation and writing exercises, while also testing the student's overall comprehension skills. Homework is often assigned as it is crucial in order to reinforce the lessons that have been learnt.

From my personal experience I have found this the best way of learning a language quickly and thoroughly. However, it also allows for a great deal of flexibility depending on the needs or demands of the student. I also frequently add a lot of content on Spanish culture into my lessons which is not only helpful in providing students vocabulary and topics to talk and write about, but also helps spark a love for the language that makes learning it a lot easier and enjoyable. Ultimately it is this passion what will allow them to stand out from other students and achieve genuinely outstanding results.
