Hi there! I am a 22 year old artist looking to start teaching art to all ages and abilities, whether that be as an aid in GCSE or A-Level projects and portfolios or just to supplement creative hobbies! I specialise in fine arts- drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture but am also skilled in sewing and textiles. My lessons are fully individualised to suit the students' preferred mediums, I work primarily remotely but happy to commute for home lessons if this is preferable for the student or indeed necessary for their project. I can provide full step by step project guidance from planning and research to executing an amazing final piece. Having achieved a 9 in GCSE Art and Design and a Distinction in my L3 Arts Diploma, I have an in-depth knowledge of the structure, necessary detail and engaging content to include in an extended project. I have also written many essays at college and during Art History modules at university, and am skilled in English so able to guide and support students with written aspects of work as well. A typical lesson may include a briefing to start- reflecting upon the previous lesson and any new ideas or pieces the student has made between lesson. Then we may either do research and writing together such as annotating research or evaluating one's own work (this may be most relevant in the beginning and end stages of a project). Practical work may include drawing, painting, colour mixing or sculpting technique tutorials, which will vary greatly from student to student. I always encourage exploration of new mediums and techniques so am happy to accommodate any and all ideas the student brings along! I may then set a task for between lessons dependent upon the student's goal- this could include a small piece of work to practice a technique or extend the content of their project, a piece of research on a relevant artist or a piece of self-reflection. I believe the most important aspect of teaching and learning any kind of art is fun and the lessons will always incorporate and be focused around the student's interests, and aim to be varied and engaging. Please get in touch if this sounds like something that may suit you!
