I try to align my lesson plan and structure based on my students preferences. I believe this helps ensure that the student as the heart of the lesson, and that the lesson works best for them. I like to keep my lessons an open discussion, with absolutely no judgement whatsoever.
I believe in taking the lesson at the student's own pace. My methods include producing notes and best case studies for the student to use as revision material, to producing worksheets for them to do. Additionally, I run through particular problems and topics they have issues with, and do this in a manner that works best for them. For example, I have before helped a student write up their notes based on a particularly challenging maths problem that we solved together. I also mark work and add comments that guide the students to the answer, rather than just giving the student the answer. I believe interactivity and practice are fundamental to improving at a subject.
I specialise in teaching mathematics and economics, as well as personal statement help. My students have all successfully managed to get into university using my personal statement guidance, and similarly have all achieved high grades in GCSEs and A levels.
Having worked several jobs in multiple teams, engaging with various different stakeholders throughout, I am able to communicate with a wide range of people and produce work that is tailored to individual needs.
Ultimately, the success and happiness of my students is the most important thing.
