Dear Students

I am a student myself, an undergraduate at Cambridge University studying Natural Sciences. My name is Orlando Wooding and my strength is in Mathematics. For instance I achieved an A* in A level Mathematics with over 90% as well as an A in Further Maths. I have over a year of Mathematical tutoring experience, ranging from teaching entire classes Further Maths at the GCSE level to one-on-one sessions with A-level students. With a friendly and conversational teaching style I can help my students to succeed and discover their passion for Maths.

My teaching style focuses on the needs of the student, aiming to identify their weaker areas as well as the areas that they most enjoy, as I believe that a student who likes what they are studying will learn much more effectively. Friendly sessions that allow my tutees to relax and let go of their fears of Maths are key to my teaching style.

I will focus of course on doing practice questions and going over them in a meticulous manner. This is because In my personal experience, both my students' learning and my own has been best when doing practice with real examples. In addition to this it efficiently identifies weak spots in a student's knowledge.

During my time as an A-level student I taught the subject of Further Maths to GCSE students, helping 11 of them to achieve grade 9 - through doing this I have learnt the key skills in a star student's mathematical arsenal as well as how to teach these techniques in a way that is tailored to the individual.
