Opio Joseph in a nutshell

First, for a particular topic say Trigonometry for Advanced level maths, we do introduce the topic from scratch to understand the basics of it. Such that when we start looking at each sub topic, the learner is familiar with and understands, and has the ability to derive the most important identities to be used for the whole of the lessons involving caculations in trigonometry as a topic. It's the same for the rest of the topics
So the point of approach is, first introduction to give the learner a picture of what that particular topic of study is, which may involve some definitions of the key terms and characters, and listing down of the sub topics and themes involved in that topic.
Secondly is derivation and listing of the formulae for calculations of different parameters in the different sub-topics, as we handle each topic one after the other in each different lesson..
After coming up with the formulae, then we venture in to calcution of some of the examples involving application of the derived formulae. During this period, we shall exhaust as many examples as possible to ensure that we touch almost every part of that particular sub topic to enable the learner have a wider coverage. Then there will be an allowable brief period for perhaps a few questions, it's a tool to tell if the learner really understands what he/she is getting from the tutor, such that if they haven't got a point somewhere, as a tutor you surely should expect a question.
Finally trial questions are given to learners for assessment of that particular sub topic, for corrections if need arises. Thank you
