I’m an experienced interpreter and translator, born in Italy and now residing in California. I now teach Italian to people of various ages with different needs.
My method depends on what are your goal is in learning a language; as a matter of fact my first question is always “why are you studying Italian”. If you want to become an interpreter, main focus will be on grammar (and there’s a lot of it in Italian), pronunciation, and of course reading and speaking fluently. If you’d like to learn Italian to travel, visit museums, order at the restaurant and understand simple conversation, grammar will be reduced to basic and the main focus will be on conversation.
