I begin by identifying weak areas or topics, method preferred, that is, revising exam questions or going through the topics with examples and so on. I am flexible in terms of approach; it's whatever works for the students. I teach tricks and strategies to tackle different topics and concepts. I watch students tackle a problem and observe their approach and reasoning then I can provide some insights on what to correct or improve on.
