Taking up the role of a teacher has made me realize that one is not just a teacher but a mentor and a role model. My undying passion for teaching and moulding lives has impacted my students such that majority of them who did not have flair for chemistry and science have developed so much interest that they went on to the university to study chemistry and chemistry related courses. This remains a huge success on my path and a motivation for me to remain a teacher for the rest of my life
My understanding of the importance of qualitative education to the development and improvement of the younger generation upon the previous ones has always been my motivation to want to leverage on every opportunity given to impart the upcoming generation with a sound education. My job specifications as a classroom teacher has exposed me to the psychology of these great pupils, to influence them to learn and develop a worthy and acceptable character in the society. During my tenure as the Head of Department, sciences, I maintained enviable working relationships with other colleague teachers both in my department and other departments that the school won several award of excellence in many subjects and science subjects most especially.
I have had opportunities to go for various continuing professional development programs such as attending conferences and workshops, reviewing of published books for the students and engaging in peer mentoring. These opportunities broadened my knowledge in effective class management and curriculum reviews. This bulk of experiences have made me realize that learning is life and teaching is what it takes to sustain it.
