I believe my tutoring offers a more personal experience, as I know firsthand the pressures and strains exam season brings, and students would find comfort in knowing they are not alone in this time. I have a years experience in tutoring privately and am soon joining a tutor company, with my school selecting me to be a mentor and tutor to peers. My approach consists of an initial analysis of the students strengths and weaknesses, so we can identify which areas will need extra help, whether that be exam technique, the actual content or perfecting those silly mistakes we all make in the moment! These areas will then be revised upon and the student will be taught how to implement these into their work, improving the quality of their answers. Practice papers are then key to solidifying this knowledge, helping them practice their exam technique, as well as helping to prepare the student for any type of question that comes their way in the real exam. My process will not only teach students how to rote learn the method to typical exam questions, but how to approach them in different ways and truly understand the maths behind the questions, setting them up to be higher level mathematicians.
