I adapt my lessons depending on the student's existing level of French, purpose of learning the language, and personal demands (for example, working towards a GCSE French oral exam).
I make my tutor sessions relaxed and engaging, often starting with a short 'lesson', progressing to a discussion in which the student can ask questions, and finishing with an opportunity for the student to put what they have learnt into practice through exercises.
I encourage general chit-chat in French throughout the session, if the student feels comfortable to do so, in order to build the student's confidence in using the language and making mistakes. I believe that it is through making mistakes that language is best learnt!
I have a wide-range of language teaching experience, having worked as an English teaching assistant in Senegal for a year, tutored online for EDUCASTREAM, and tutored English at Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse, during my ERASMUS exchange year.
I know how difficult learning French can be - trust me, I've been there! I believe my personal experience of learning French through school, university, and immersion make me well suited to passing on what I have learnt through years of hard work! I therefore always bring kindness, encouragement and patience to my lessons. I look forward to meeting you if this sounds like the kind of French tutor you are looking for!
