I tutor one-to-one in English Literature and other Humanities subjects, in-person or online. I offer lessons from KS3 - KS5 / GCSE to A-Level.

I completely tailor lessons to the individual student. I can help demystify specifications and mark schemes for exams and coursework and aim to help students ‘jump through the hoops’ of school assessments, whilst also supporting students who want to achieve the highest grades or continue a subject in higher education.

I can fit around the schedules of students with alternative educational provision or partial school timetables.

When tutoring I like to first understand where an individual student is in their course, the exam board and specification for the subject, the modules or options they’re studying (e.g. set texts for English Literature), their specific issues or targets, and what material they’ve received from school. I’m happy to coordinate with parents whilst also communicating directly with students about where they are with their work.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Classics and received an A* in English Literature at A Level and grade 9s in English Literature and English Language at GCSE. I have experience tutoring one-to-one in English Literature at GCSE to A-Level, and English Language, History, Religious Studies, and Ancient Greek up to GCSE. I also have experience mentoring students for university applications, advising particularly on writing personal statements and preparing for interviews.

I understand a lot of secondary students have missed out on education due to Covid and am happy to support students looking to catch up on material or to help prepare for exam re-sits.
