Throughout the whole lesson I would speak to my student in Spanish and encourage my student to do the same in order to familiarise themselves and to build their confidence in conversational Spanish. At the beginning of each lesson I would go through with them any exercises I set for them over the week and address any difficulties the student may be having. If they have any upcoming exams or tests I would help them revise for it, making sure that we stick to the specification. If my student were to be doing A level Spanish, i would be sending them news articles such as "el mundo" and "el país" in order to prepare them for the speaking exam which requires some own knowledge in order to impress the examiner. Being a native speaker, I would be very attentive when it comes to their accent and pronunciation as this usually puts students in the top band when it comes to the oral tests, whether that be GCSE or A level. I feel that it is important to keep your students focused and engaged and therefore I will be randomly popping questions at them so that they are constantly on their toes and listening.
