I have just graduated from the University of Cambridge, where I studied Music, graduating with a predicted First Class degree, and a strong first for the history paper ‘Tallis and Byrd: Music in the Reformation’. My love for Music and the reformation showcases my parallel love for History, which I studied at A level, receiving an A grade. I also studied Music (A*, receiving the second highest mark in my year) and English (A*). I am also an accomplished classical performer, having sung with the choir of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge throughout my undergraduate degree, and as a composer having worked with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
I have long experience working with children and teenagers, having volunteered extensively – principally with museums – in and around my home county of Suffolk. Notably, I spent a number of summers as Education Assistant at Britten Pears Arts, based in Britten’s former home, The Red House, as well as working with the Suffolk Youth Orchestra. As a Grade 8 pianist, I have also been employed as a piano teacher.
My lessons will consist of scheduling revision timetables, planning essays and structuring essay plans. I will help you develop your writing technique, and articulate your thoughts clearly. As someone who has ADHD, I personally found that structuring revision timetables, including factoring in breaks and rest times, was crucial during my GCSEs. I will help you organise your time, and make sure your studying is as effective as possible. I aim to help you through you exams by helping you to both memorise content, and write creatively.
I look forward to hearing from you.
