I am a 2nd year student currently studying Mathematics at the University of Manchester and am immensely enthusiastic about maths and aiding others to better understand it. All my lessons are extremely accessible to students of all levels, and I strive to provide each student with a comfortable learning environment, where they want to ask questions and are ok with making mistakes. I have an impressive academic record, achieving A*A*A in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics at A levels, and an 8 in Mathematics at GCSE so I can assure your student would be being provided with quality teaching and I would get the most out of them.
I Have been tutoring students ranging from year 9 to year 13 for the better half of three years now, and all of my students who have sat formal assessments have come out with a least a pass. My lessons tend to consist of a 5-10 minute opening task where we tend to cover work from the week before, to ensure you understand the content covered so far. If I have set some form of homework, we would cover that in place of the opening task. The most important thing to me as a tutor, is communication, so throughout lessons I will be continuously asking about their confidence on a range of topics. This is to allow myself to plan future lessons accordingly. I believe the majority of a lesson should be interacting and engaging with students, through the use of exercises, and activities therefore in my lessons there will be little time watching me doing work on a board, but rather actively engaging with the student and working through a problem together, so that they may develop a better understanding.
