I am a recent Physics Graduate from Durham, currently studying a Masters in Computationally Applied Mathematics in Edinburgh. I thoroughly enjoy the subjects I teach and appreciate how they can be applied to the world around us. I am comfortable teaching in person, although I conduct most of my lessons online using a onenote workspace that can be shared after the lesson to help students with notes and revision.
My teaching style is entirely dependent on the student, and I have am happy to try different methods depending on the way a student learns. For particularly abstract mathematical concepts, I often find visual aids such as desmos graphing calculator can be useful tools to help picture how these constructs work.
Since I was taking these exams not too long ago, I am very familiar with the specific ways in which examiners will phrase questions and how they will mark the papers; so after encouraging genuine interest for the subjects, I am always careful to point out to students that (unfortunately) this is the way they will be marked, and these are the things they should look out for.
