Qualified at all levels of education up to PhD, with a passion for translating folklore stories (how we used to explain and understand global phenomena) into modern day science!

With experiuence working in science research and with citizen science projects across the UK, I am trained as a secondary science teacher with PGCE and QTS qualifications and experience teaching main stream schools and helping students to pass GCSE and A-levels.
More recently, I have broadened my horizons by teaching in an alternative, holistic environment of Steiner-Waldorf education and achieving pass grades in the NZCSE.

I love to get to know my students and see what aspects of science they can relate to - then using this to tailor lessons to your interest!
We will cater to your level - starting with the basics if necessary, then building on this with appropriate scaffolding and great real-world examples.
We can use a variety of media to help you learn in different ways, including stories, slides, whiteboard drawing, videos, and quizzes.

So, let's start with a catch up: how are you doing, what have you been up to and what have you been studying recently? Let us be certain of what we want to achieve today (a few objectives), let's revise any content from last time and from your lessons at school, then let's get into it (the content)!
I will check your understanding as we go through with some check-in questions and low-stakes quizzing. Towards the end we will check how this content can be presented in exam style questions and how this content is relevant to the world and society around us.
If you can, it would be best for us both to have some honest feedback on what has worked for you and what has not. Therefore, we can continue with the good and adapt the bad!
