My sessions will be highly tailored, private tutoring sessions in GCSE/A-level Biology and/or Chemistry. I will take time to get to know the student and the way that they work, and I will tailor my tutoring techniques and revision strategies based off the student and what I find has worked for me in the past. I tend to encourage using the Pomodoro technique when revising, which using a cycle of 25 minutes of revision, and a 5 minute break, as I found this has helped me to maximise productivity when revising. Everything I will do will target the area of weakness that the student identifies to me, whilst still enabling the student to maintain the confidence in the areas they find more easy to grasp. I will often work through a topic in each session with the student, so that there is not a rush to cover content and the student has plenty of time to ask questions and get to grips with the topic on a very deep level, so that they not only memorise the content, but they understand it. I am under the mindset that the best way of learning is to show your understanding by teaching it so someone else, so I will often get the student to summarise their learning either at the end of the session, or the start of the next session. I will create and provide the student with resources to use outside of session time, and will guide them towards websites and resources I found useful when revising. Let's smash these exams together!!
