I have experience teaching maths to numerous GCSE students, along with KS2 students. I like to listen to the student and uncover their existing knowledge and problem solving process, before addressing any flaws in their understanding through careful explanation and examples. With an easy-going, approachable attitude, I can ensure the student is engaged and enjoys the lessons, working closely with them to refine their problem solving process to help best prepare them to tackle exams and tests. The best way to consolidate and embed that problem solving process is through explaining it themself, therefore I like to hear a confident explanation of the problem topic from the student to ensure their newly cultivated process is put to memory.
