When I tutor people I believe the most effective way to learn and enjoy learning is to work hard for small bursts and then to have a short breaks and repeat this. I think if you have the right person teaching you, you can have fun and learn at the same time. Having fun whilst learning is the most effective way to understand and take in what has been taught. I will always teach to your weaknesses so I try to create a relationship where you can be honest with me so we can best help you learn. I like to try to create a relationship with you where you feel comfortable talking to me, I think this means it’s a more relaxed environment to learn and also you may feel more confident to ask me questions if there is something you are stuck on. I have experience working with younger children from a previous job which was primary school sport. So through that I have learnt the most effective ways to teach young people. I find by being able to have a joke with them it makes the whole feeling of talking to them more relaxed and enjoyable for both of us. With maths I always enjoyed it when I was younger as there was always a correct answer but often many ways of getting to the right answer. I think this allows for freedom and doing what works best for you. As long as the answers are correct I am happy however you get there.
