Hello! I’m Olive, and I’m new to tutoring. My lessons are planned according to the needs of the student and I like to include interests and experiences of the student within my lessons.
I tutor in reading, literacy, handwriting, and GCSE preparations.
I know a lot of young people have had trouble with English during COVID, and as a result GCSE and SATs results have declined, but my aim is to catch your child up to speed as fast and efficiently as possible.
I can teach children with focusing and learning difficulties, and am available on weekends and after school hours, and will make teaching your child a priority.
Not only will I do my best at teaching but I will encourage them as much as possible using stickers and positive feedback on their work.
I also provide breaks if needed, for instance if a child needed a snack break or just a little time to sit back and relax for 5-10 minutes.
I am nearly 17 years old and while that may seem young I believe being closer to the age of the child makes it easier for them to see me as a peer rather than a teacher, and it makes it less awkward for them to talk to me and connect with the work. Connecting with the work can be a struggle for some children, but the activities and writing we do will be centred around their interests and areas of difficulty.
I would be love to see them start to enjoy english and help them pass their exams.
