I know how hard it is for an English speaker to learn russian! There are lots of cases and weird grammar variants, but my students newer see language like that. I aim to show my native language as a beautiful and interesting creature. I use all the tools and tricks at my disposal to make learning proces interesting and effective.
For beginner students, I will lay a solid foundation that will help to understand what the learningprocesscan look like (dependingon specific goals of each student). Knowing the structure and the logic of language helps enormously to not feel lost or overwhelmed. For intermediate students I like to focus on expanding the vocabulary as well as to make sure all the cases are used comfortably. At this level I like to introduce some set expressions and interesting phrases native speakers like to use
And finally with my advanced students I usually arrange my lessons as an open discussion or conversation on various interesting topics. My students get to practice speaking their mind in one of the hardest languages, and I keep a close eye on all the grammar and vocabulary.
