As a literature student at the University of St Andrews and someone who has successfully completed both GCSEs and A Levels, I understand firsthand the challenges and rewards that English students face. Having recently navigated these stages myself, I am well-equipped to support students through their academic journey, offering guidance that is both practical and empathetic.
During my own studies, I developed a deep passion for English literature, and this has continued to grow through my current university course. I vividly recall the pressures of preparing for exams, balancing coursework, and mastering analysis under time constraints. This personal experience allows me to relate to students' challenges in a unique way, helping them not only understand the content but also develop effective study habits and manage the stress that often accompanies exam preparation. My approach to teaching is rooted in fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. I aim to help students develop a genuine interest in literature, while also equipping them with the analytical skills necessary for exam success. I believe in tailoring my approach to meet each student's individual needs, drawing on my own experiences to offer relatable advice and strategies that can help them thrive. It is my standard procedure to thoroughly research any text before I help the student with their work which I believe will make my lessons worthwhile. I would be thrilled to contribute my knowledge and passion for English to students and I am confident that my background as both a student and an aspiring teacher would be a valuable asset to anyone who needs help.
