I teach biology and my teaching method is mainly progressive. This helps the student to also interact while making of their use their imagination and experience for proper understanding. This is most effective as biology is a combination of both plants and animals and how we interact with them. O also make use of live images and objects in the teaching process as this helps the student to understand properly while driving along a particular topic. Prior to each lesson, i send out materials that will help the student have an idea about the intended topic. This helps for proper interaction within the lesson and most importantly, help the student to formulate their own theory after proper critical thinking. Being an environmental course, i employ students to also have within reach a particular object that will be instrumental for proper understanding of the topic as this helps for proper practicalisation where necessary. Having implemented the above methods in my teaching experience, students have attested to its effectiveness as it has helped them succeed in their various exams.
