After having been tutored several times by multiple different services (one-to-one, in person and online) throughout most of my academic life, I was inspired by those tutors to become an excellent one myself. My experiences in tutoring involve helping many with their study endeavours - my peers during high school with sciences, high school students during my A levels with maths and primary school children for their 11 Plus. I'm delighted to share that all of these individuals have achieved better results after having taken my knowledge and techniques to improve their work.
My lessons consist of helping the student with homework and any other questions or confusions they may have about the subject using simple explanations and analogies, as well as providing tips and tricks for school content and exams. I will also set them work that I find on the internet based on their curriculum and their level of difficulty in order to challenge them and test how far they are progressing and pushing themselves. However, the sessions are not intensive and the student always receives a comfortable environment for learning - this includes breaks, discussions about their academic or professional dreams, etc.
It may not be enticing at first, but from what I have gained from other tutors is that a tutor is always good for supporting a student's journey. There's always new and interesting information and expert opinions that can be absorbed, and these things will remain in your mind for the years leading up to university and beyond as you face the obstacles of life. Therefore, smile and give it a chance !
