Hello there! My name is Noor and I am a third-year dental student. I currently tutor GCSE Maths but I also teach KS3 and GCSE Maths, Biology and Chemistry. I sat my GCSE and A-levels in the last 5 years so I am up to date with the current specifications and exams.
After achieving A*AA at A-levels I felt I had acquired the knowledge to teach other aspiring students how to achieve similar grades. Before I began tutoring privately I was a teaching assistant at a tuition company for a year so I became confident teaching in groups very quickly. I can work with children of all ages and the right skillset to be a successful teacher. Once I started university I began one-to-one tuition over Skype. My method of online teaching has been proven to be easy and hassle free allowing greater flexibility for student, parent and myself.
I typically run one-hour lessons that involve teaching and interactive learning mostly, homework is also given to track progress and solidify topics. I teach OCR, Edexcel and AQA exam boards in all my subjects. My teaching style pushes the student to take the initiative with their learning and give them the confidence to achieve their goals. I prefer to be their mentor rather than teacher as outside the school environment I am able to focus on them solely and assist in all aspects not just the subject.
As well as teaching subjects I am also familiar with the medical/dental school application process so I can provide guidance in that area. For example work experience, personal statement, UKCAT, interviews and general advice.
