I have recently completed a Master’s in Neuroscience at Trinity College Dublin for which I received a distinction grade. The focus of my thesis investigated the neural correlates of hate through analysing open-source fMRI data. Furthermore, I have completed my undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from the University of Glasgow, achieving a 1:1. I have also completed Advanced Higher and Higher Biology. These experiences have provided me with a robust foundation in communicating biological principles, which I would apply to tutoring.
I am currently working at the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) as an Optometry demonstrator where I facilitate problem-based learning for Optometry BSc students. In this role I guide the students through clinical cases and provide feedback on how they perform individually and as part of a team. By working through clinical cases with students, I gain insight into the practical applications of optometric principles while honing my ability to communicate complex concepts in an accessible way. Additionally, this experience has strengthened my skills in mentoring and fostering teamwork within a clinical learning environment.
I have real world experience in collaborating with colleagues and study participants in a professional setting from my time at the Day Lab at the Stanford School of Medicine. I was extensively engaged with the digital biomarker team, which delivered investigator-initiated trials to our patient population to drive impactful research outcomes for publication.
I look forward to the possibility of discussing how my experience and qualifications can contribute to the success of the your studies. Please reach out if you think we'd be a good match!
